Another Cancer Case Cured

I just googled “Dr. Mcdougall Ruth Heidrich” after hearing a bit about Mcdougall’s excellent results with cancer and heart disease patients, after switching them from the standard American diet to one consisting of starches (i.e. potatoes, rice), fruits, and vegetables. I’m not a big fan of a starch-based diet—I promote one consisting of ONLY fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds (see Dr. Douglas Graham’s ’80/10/10′ diet regimen); however, the starch-based vegan diet is still a MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT over the typical constipation-forming, standard American fare of eggs, meats, dairy, etc. And Dr. Mcdougall, a graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine, along with cancer survivor Ruth Heidrich, Phd., proves it.

Heidrich, a former military logistician, marathoner—and avid meat-eater—was diagnosed in 1982 at the age of 47 with breast cancer. The cancer was so advanced that it had spread to her bones and one lung. After refusing chemotherapy, Heidrich visited Dr. Mcdougall and decided to use a vegan diet as her ONLY METHOD—NO DRUGS NO SURGERY—of combatting her ‘terminal’ cancer. Heidrich’s results? Completely cured on Dr. M’s vegan regimen. Heidrich is now holds a Phd in psychology (continued her education AFTER her diagnosis), is cancer free, has received 800 racing trophies and run over 60 marathons since her original diagnosis in 1982. Strong circumstantial evidence that the vegan diet may have something to do with overall good health.

I found it interesting that Heidrich mentions in her story that she’d been CONSTIPATED HER ENTIRE LIFE without knowing it, prior to her ordeal. This corroborates 1920′s vegan pioneer Prof. Arnold Ehret’s thesis that constipation, and a subsequent poisoning of the entire bloodstream, is the primary root of human illness.

Another note—Heidrich tracked her bone density on the vegan diet after her diagnosis. She had a family history of osteoporosis and was concerned about a shortage of calcium on the Mcdougall Plan. Her bone density actually INCREASED after eliminating dairy from her diet (green vegetables and nuts are loaded with calcium). And, her prior case of arthritis completely DISAPPEARED!

Dr. Mcdougall has worked with literally thousands of patients over three decades. His conclusion?The vegan diet can REVERSE DISEASE WITHOUT DRUGS OR SURGERY.
